I made up the seperate drawers and chemise TV patterns and while there is plenty of material in the chemise, its not noticable when I have my corset on. Mind you, I used superfine cotton lawn which is just yummy to wear :)

Thanks for the tips, Tiffers! I don't have a corset, so I think that until I make one, I can leave the combos without darts. I reaaaally doubt my waist is going down anywhere past 24" corseted (4" at most, right?) but I do have curves, which is usually why darts are a good idea. But I'll take your advice and wait. I'm raring to go on the corset, now! Time to visit Stratford!

One thing that may help the snapping problem (if a new needle doesn't cut it) is to look at your bobbin shape. I've found that the "shuttle" shaped bobbins with rounded tops and bottoms will slip around in the bobbin slot a whole lot easier than the ones that are straight, like a sideways H. At least, that was the problem with my mom's old Bernina :D
