Made for my mother to wear to the fair.....

It's the TV108 grand bustle, the TV202 and the TV410 Polonaise. I love the fabric for the polonaise which I found on Ebay.

I will be making photo's at the fair of my mother wearing it :D

That is absolutely gorgeous! I LOVE that fabric! :D

Darn it, now I HAVE to get that polonaise pattern ... two patterns are easier to ship than one, right? (I already plan on getting the TV 110 pattern next month anyway). :wink:

Pretty! I really like the trims on the back bodice pleats. And the back drapery and poufing, nice! When I made the polonaise, I couldn't get it to look as nicely crunched up like that (but then maybe that was the fabric I used). Anyway, lovely work!

8) Thank you! The fabric is wonderful and I'm so happy I found these buttons, they match nicely. The fabric isn't soft, it's more 'crisp'... a beautiful brocade... but, boy, does it ever fray!!
If you have a 'soft' fabric maybe spray on starch would help a bit?

I adore the fabric!

When I sew with that sort of brocade, I increase the seam allowances to a full inch. I have found it's the only way to control fraying as you sew (You can trim them down some after everything is sewn together).

I do that for velvet, too.

I put fray check around the edges and the bodice is flat lined with a very sturdy cotton. I use cotton backed velvet and it usually behaves itself :lol:

Holy cow!! Even my husband freaked out at how gorgeous that turned out! We had Kambriel make him a frock coat last year with that fabric for the cuffs, collar, pocket flaps, and buttons, and now after seeing your gown he wants me to make a matching dress.

Until now I've ignored the grand parlor skirt. It's fantastic! I shall ignore it no longer :D

Dont you love the polonaise pattern it's SO easy to work with :lol: You know I LIKED your dress untill I noticed the fabric was skulls...then I LOVED it. :D How wonderfully unexpected. Bravo!

I remember finding this fabric on ebay once, but I cannot remember who the seller was for the life of me. I love the skull fabric and I remember liking some of the other fabric in their store. I was wondering if either of you two wonderful ladies could remember who it was?
