Good morning!
I stumbled across this dress on Ebay, and wanted to share. It is a pretty and unassuming little dress, but the person who photographed it is detail oriented, and good with a camera. Imagine!

The are some especially good pics of a button underlay with a hook and hand-bar plastron that hooks over the button front. The second top looks to me like it may have been from the beginning of the decade. *shrug* Not sure, hopefully one of you will have ideas too!

Also look at how the over skirt attaches, how fun!
Well, this certainly got me to thinking.
Happy hunting,
~Kelly

It looks to me to be an 1880's dress remade into an 1890's dress. This skirts as they are now, don't want a bustle under them. The hidden button closure is very interesting, as usually that would be hook/eye, too. And I just love the buttoned overskirt. I think this dress has seen a lot of revisions in it's day. It's too bad that there is never a record of the changes.

Isn't that such a cleverly made ensemble.
