Christmas Miracle

Postby LidiaBest » Wed Jan 14, 2009 4:44 pm

Well, My kitten just put a two inch long gash in my (2.5 inch long) pinkie and it's bleeding too much to keep sewing right now. However, I'm bored so I thought I'd tell you about my Christmas miracle that happened this year (since I don't use my pinkies at all when I type and can keep my hurt finger straight)

So... I was at my mom's house on Christmas eve. Christmas is my mom's favorite holiday because she loves shopping (especially for us kids) and baking etc. and is always upset if we give her short christmas lists (even though I'm 19 my sister is 21 and my brother is 23). I always put Truly Victorian patterns on my list because I make so little money that I can't usually afford to buy anything.

As soon as I got there my mom was extremely upset and started explaining that she ordered the patterns I wanted, but they hadn't come yet and she'd send them to me as soon as she got them. She was almost in tears because she was so sure me not getting patterns would ruin christmas. I love my crazy mom.

So we were about to open our christmas presents when a delivery truck pulls in the drive way. They were delivering the patterns on Christmas eve! My mom was embarrassed because she had already told me about them, etc. it's crazy that they were still out delivering things on christmas eve in the evening, but whatever.

So that's my christmas miracle. It sounds more boring written down, but it was much more exciting in real life.

Love,
Lidia

I think that's a sweet story :) I love to hear about people enjoying the holidays, it's such a magical time of year. I'm glad everything worked out, and I'm sure your mother was greatly relieved!

I hope your finger heals quickly! That must be frustrating!

What was also a miracle this christmas is that my whole family got together this year (first time for any holiday in a good 5 years) and no one got in a fight! That's really amazing! Even my grandma wasn't a total jerk this year!

And my Grandparents gave me a vase that supposedly belonged to my great grandma (my mom says that she remembers seeing it when she was little, so I guess it's true), and it matches my tea set perfectly! I thought that was pretty wild that they picked out that vase for me, since they have tons and tons of them from Grandma Mcpeck.

Love Lidia

P.S. I stole a bunch of bandaids from work today, so I can get back to sewing! I've got bloody spots on my petticoat now because I was determined to finish that part of it before bed. That shouldn't be a problem today.

Miss Fleur, didn't you say that blood on the garment you are sewing is GOOD LUCK?

BTW, UPS delivers until the truck is empty. That is why Christmas packages arrive late. It's a MIRACLE that it arrived at all!
