Hi from St. Louis!

Postby skpearce » Wed Apr 29, 2009 12:52 pm

I am living in St. Louis and I love to sew historical outfits, especially using patterns from TV!. My dresses are getting tired of sitting in the closet and I was wondering if anyone in the area knows of any events that would require historical clothing? If not, would anyone be interested in starting a historical clothing group with me?

Thanks!

Dear Miss Sarah,
I don't live in your area, so this will not be much help, but I just want to comment. I would think that there are many folks in your area. I have seen "Meet me in St. Louis" and I would think that it helps to inspire those in your area.
I hope you are successful! And it sounds like a great deal of fun! :)
Sincerely,
Miss Cindy

Sarah,

I don't live in the St. Louis area, but if you are ever in Eureka Springs, Arkansas, we have a number of events for costumers. I think we're about a five hour drive from you. Eureka Springs would be a great get-away weekend and I would be happy to help you with fun things to dress for here in our Victorian town. Hope you find a group that would like to get together.

Miranda lives in St. Louis, but I know she's been having to work too much to have time for sewing. Occasionally I visit her and we dress up and go out to lunch in costume. (I live about five hours from St. Louis.)

Sarah! Hi, I am from St. Peters. There's a group for Civil War reenactors out here, but not much for anything later than a hoop skirt. Please, I would love to begin a group with you! I dont have any bustle clothing yet, but I've got the grand bustle pattern to get started. :) PM me if you want to meet up sometime soon
