The bodice is pretty easy. It is basically TV460, with a different collar. Or, as the collar really doesn't sit right fora roll collar, it might actually be a trimmed down version of the mandarin collar with a pleated frill added to it. End the buttons at the bust, and let the upper part roll back. Add a bit of nice fabric onto the lining at the opening. The back hip looks like a slightly different shape than a point, but just cut TV460 to the shape you want.
The skirt, I'm not as sure about, especially as you can only see the top of it. From the front, it doesn't look overly historically accurate. The back is very pretty though. I would go with TV261 for the skirt. It has the option of adding the poufs to the back, like in the pick. But the overall skirt will be more accurate to the period.
Oh, almost forgot. Both these patterns are in the Late Bustle section of the catalog.

Thanks Heather!
I agree on the historically incorrect bit, but I do love the dress so, and this is for a movie costume reproduction event! YAY! I think I have found the proper fabric. That colour is tricky. I hope it looks ok on me!
here are a few more shots; the front is very flat and slim, the back nearly seems a separate piece,

I definately agree with Heathers suggestions! For the skirt, there are a couple of scenes where she is moving away from the camera (walking through the street and moving around in Sherlock Holmes room) and you can see that its all in one piece. Its also quite a large skirt and I reckon TV261 would be perfect for it. I've made that skirt up with the poofs and it can give a very slim front with a large rear end (it helps that my bustle is quite large). If you feel it might need more oomph, add extra material to the rear section of the pattern and add more ties and loops to keep it under control.

Thanks for the info! I guess I will have to watch the movie a few more times to get it just right. OH DARN!!
Now I should get on the fabric. I am thinking medium weight fuschia duchess satin. What do you think?

I definitely think I will go with satin over taffeta. It definitely seems more on point with the movie dress.
